Humor Wall FAQ


1. How can I submit something for the Humor Wall?
Email your Humor submissions to humor@k12genie.com.

2. What is a Humor post?
A Humor post is something that made you laugh enough that you want to share it with other K12Genie readers.

3. What types of humorous things can I send?
We accept the following types of postings for the Humor Wall:

  • Funny pictures
  • Jokes
  • Riddles
  • Funny stories
  • Funny news headlines or ads
  • Funny quotes
  • Funny sayings or parts of conversation
  • Original cartoons
  • Witty sayings
  • Funny videos

4. Does the humor have to be education related?
The joke or other piece of humor does not have to be education/school/student related.

5. Why should I add it to the Humor Wall?
Everyone enjoys a good laugh.

6. What needs to be submitted as part of a Humor post?

1. Your first and last name
2. Your grade level or age if you are a K-12 student
3. Your city and state
4. Humor title
5. Your humor text
6. If something is not original, please provide as much information as possible of the source such as where you read or overheard it.
7. A photo or video (e.g. a scanned image of the headline or original cartoon)

Email your Humor submissions to humor@k12genie.com.

7. Will any of my contact information be visible to other K12Genie readers?
Your email will NOT be visible to any readers.

8. Will K12Genie change any of my submission?
We reserve the right to edit the submissions as necessary, especially for space or clarity.

9. What is the maximum size of a photo or video?
Photos should be no larger than 1 MB and should be jpeg, gif, or tiff formats. Videos should be no longer than 5 minutes or 1 GB and should be wmv, mpeg2, or mpeg4 format.

10. Can I send a YouTube video?
Yes, we can imbed videos you have uploaded to YouTube. Just send us the link to your YouTube video or the actual HTML and we’ll take care of the rest.

11. What if I have a video I want to upload that isn’t already on YouTube?
You can email us the video and we’ll convert the file and upload it to K12Genie’s YouTube account. Then we will imbed the video to your post.

12. Are there restrictions on what I can send?
Yes. The humor should be something that is appropriate for kids of all ages. It should not discriminate against anyone based on race, skin color, religion, sex, national origin, or age and should otherwise be in good taste. We will not post submissions that violate our Terms of Use or Privacy Policies. We also reserve the right not to post items that are in bad taste or we feel are not in keeping with the intent of the K12Genie Humor Wall or our website as a whole.

13. What happens once I submit my Humor post?
Humor postings will be reviewed as we get them. If your posting doesn’t have a picture or video to go with it, we may select or create one to go with it. We’ll email you to let you know if your submission will be posted or not posted.

14. How long will it take till I see my submission posted on the Humor Wall?
Humor submissions will be reviewed as we get them. You should see your submission on the wall within 2-3 days from submission date on average. We do not guarantee that all items will be posted.
